Errors in Order List when Customising the System Material List
Updated over a week ago

The System Material List is the list created by the software to build the design created.

LLD software gives you the option to customise the System Material List which allows you to add or remove items – this now creates a COMPONENT List.

Once you create a Component List, that is now the list which determines the products that will be ordered.

BEWARE – There is no link between the design and the Customised Component List so if you have created a Component List and then make changes to the design e.g., colour or dimension changes, these changes will only apply to the System Material List, and they must be manually changed in your Component List.

In the example below, I have changed the number of roof sheets – this is shown by the blue highlight in the Component List and the red highlight in the System Material List

I have now saved the changes and returned to the job.

Any change I make to the design will only change in the System Material List, so the Component List must be changed manually to reflect the changes in the design.

If I change the roof sheet colour, the System Material List shows the roof sheet colour change with the whole item highlighted red. The Component List shows the same item in blue to alert the user to the difference between the two lists.

You can see there are 3 red items in total that are different and need attention (roof sheets, flashings, and fasteners). To make sure the correct items are ordered you must transfer the changes to the Component List.

This can be done in two ways:

METHOD 1

In this example I changed the roof sheets from Flatdek to Trimdek. The new roof sheet is highlighted in pink on the System Material List and the old one is highlighted in blue on the Component List.

There is a blue arrow next to the “3 red items” circle – clicking on this will instantly move all the new items over to the component list and leave you to remove the incorrect products.

You will need to remove the initial items from the component list by clicking on the red cross which appears when you hover over the item.

This will remove the unwanted item and its ancillary items.

METHOD 2

In this example I changed the roof sheet colour. If you hover over the individual red item in the System List, you will see a blue arrow pointing to the Component List.

This will transfer the roof sheets and ancillary items across to the component list in the new colour.

You will now need to remove the roof sheets in the original colour from the Component List by selecting the red cross next to the item.

This will ensure that the old colour roof sheets are removed from the order list, and the roof sheets in the correct colour will be ordered along with the ancillary items.

Continue to do this with all the items until you are happy with the component list

Once you have confirmed your Component List is correct you can create your quote and your Order.
